Single Payer Action Confronts Congressman Murphy

July 26, 2009

Congressman Scott Murphy (D-New York), what the hell is going on?

Last month, in Glens Falls, New York, we asked you about single payer.

And you spent two minutes dodging the question.

And then when you addressed why you are not in support of single payer, you give us insurance industry talking points?

“I worry about people having choices – to keep the current plan if they like it,” Murphy said. “I worry about that with a single payer system.”

No, Congressman.

You worry about the insurance companies being driven out of business.

You don’t give a damn about the people of New York.

Or the people of the United States.

If you did, you would support single payer.

As Dr. Marcia Angell, former editor of the New England Journal of Medicine puts it — it’s not only the best health insurance reform, it’s the only one that will both control costs and cover everyone.
